Text messaging automation: Best practices

How to write the most effective text messages?

The text messaging environment has seen many changes in the recent past. The scammers seem to find newer ways to abuse the medium daily, and the wireless providers are reacting with more stringent guidelines and processes. The latest A2P 10DLC registration requirement is one such process that the IsOn24 care team facilitates for you.
In this context, we would like to share some of the best practices for creating text messages that will impress and inform your clients and that the wireless providers will not find suspicious.
  1. Your text messages should feel conversational. For example, always begin with
Thanks for calling your-business-name-here. To find ...
  2. Avoid shortened links (such as bit.ly or goo. gl). Wireless providers will likely filter those text messages.
  3. You do not need to add your business phone number in the text message. It makes the Text message feel more "sales-like" even when it is not. Also, the text message receiver will receive your business number automatically.
  4. Always mention your business name and relevant branding in your text messages. For example -
Find the latest pricing and availaibility for industrial HVAC equipment @ https://thenationalhvacsuppliers.com.

  5. You can also increase customer engagement by encouraging your callers to reply to these text messages. For example -
To receive an insurance quote, please share your property address @ https://yourlocalinsurance.com/begin - or simply reply to this text message with your property address, and our team will get back to you with an offer.
Remember that your text messages will stay on your prospects' phones for a long time. Following the above guidelines will make your text messages more searchable, leading to more business now and in the future.
