Whether you get busy every evening, or just the weekends, or only on special days, you can now be confident to serve every caller. How the takeout calls work
When someone calls for takeout, the IsOn24 forwards the call to your restaurant phone. However, if the restaurant phone happens to be busy, the IsOn24 then puts the call in the takeout call queue, and the caller begins to listen to your promotions. Every few seconds, the system keeps checking on your restaurant phone. As soon as the restaurant phone gets free again, the system then forwards the waiting call at the front of the takeout call queue to the restaurant phone. This process keeps repeating automatically until the takeout call queue gets cleared.
Your default setup
By default, the system forwards your takeout calls only to the restaurant number that you provided during the signup. How to add more lines to answer Takeout calls

Changes required in your restaurant phone
Turn OFF the voicemail
If your restaurant phone has an attached voicemail, make sure to turn that OFF. If not turned off, the voicemail will grab any waiting takeout calls from the queue, and your staff might miss it. Please note that your voicemail could either be on the phone-handset itself, or you may have a remote voicemail with your phone provider. In either case, make sure to turn that off.
Forget the HOLD feature
Before using IsOn24, you have been putting the current caller on hold to grab any call waiting in the background. Not any more.
Now, when you hear the beep in the background, please ignore it and finish answering the current call. You will hear the beep when the IsOn24 is trying to check if your phone line is free. Do not worry because, within a minute, it will try again and again, and again, until your phone gets free and you answer the next call from the call queue.
